What is Mum's Attic?

Mum's Attic is a collaborative digital inventory platform that simplifies the downsizing process with clarity and love. Ever wondered what happened to that old record player, or who has the family photo albums? Mum's Attic helps you catalog, locate, and share anything from the basement to the attic with your friends and family.

How do I join a collection?

To join a collection, you will need to be invited by the collection owner. Once you receive the invite, click the "Accept Invite" link in the email. If this is your first time using Mum's Attic, create a free account. If you already have an account, log in. You can also see pending invitations on your user profile page.

Who can see my collection items?

Items in a collection are strictly scoped to the members invited to the Collection. Only members that have been invited to and joined that specific Collection can view, comment, or express interest in those items.

Can I be in multiple collections?

Yes! You can be part of as many collections as you like. You can easily switch between your active collections in the settings menu.

Can I upgrade from a free plan to a premium plan?

Yes! You can upgrade from Basic to Premium at any time in the app. After upgrade, all Premium features will be automatically applied.

What happens if I downgrade?

If you downgrade from Premium to Basic, your data will not be deleted. If your collection is over the limits of the Basic plan, functionality will be limited — lower resolution images may be served, and interactions will be restricted.

How do I create a collection?

From the main dashboard, tap the "Create a Collection" button. If you're already a member of another user's collection, click the Create button in the User Settings menu.

How do I invite people to my collection?

From the Collection Settings, enter their email address and tap "Send". You have the option of adding a personalized message to the email before sending, so they know it's coming from you! Invite emails will come from invite@mumsattic.com.

How do I stay up to date on my collection?

Daily Summary emails will be sent to all members of the collection, with updates on new items added, new reactions, or comments and replies. Emails will come from updates@mumsattic.com. You can opt out of these emails in the User Settings menu.

What if I forget my password?

Click "Forgot password" on the sign-in page to have a password reset link sent to your email.

How do I add an item?

After creating your collection, tap the "+" button on the dashboard to add an item. On the new item screen, you can add photos, enter stories and memories, and add Tags to help you organize your collection.

How do I use the filters?

On the dashboard, the filter button can be used to create a custom view of the items in the collection. You can filter on your custom Tags, or by reserved status.

How do I reserve an item for a member?

On the Item Details screen, click the 3-dot menu at the top right, and select Reserve Item. Select the member you wish to reserve the item for.

Can I edit items after I create them?

Yes! On the Item Details screen, click the 3-dot menu at the top right, and select Edit Item. From here you can add or remove images, update the text story, add or remove Tags, or record a new audio story (Premium only).
